Use the Profile Menu and Switch Between Admin and Instructor Portals

This guide explains how to use the account area in the Admin Platform sidebar.

Use it when you want to:

• return to the main dashboard
• open your personal settings
• sign out of the Admin Platform
• move between the Admin and Instructor workspaces

Understand This Area

In the Admin Platform sidebar, OpenMirai gives you two quick account controls:

• a portal switcher near the top of the sidebar
• your profile menu near the bottom of the sidebar

Use this area when you want to manage your own account actions or move to another workspace without searching through the main navigation.

Important details:

• the portal switcher appears when portal switching is available in your setup
• the current portal is shown on the switch button and highlighted in the portal list

Understand What A Portal Means

In OpenMirai, a portal is a workspace for a different role.

For example:

• the Admin portal is used for platform management
• the Instructor portal is used for instructor work, such as course-related tasks

If your account can move between both workspaces, you can use the portal switcher instead of signing out and back in again.

Open The Profile Menu

To open the profile menu:

1. Select your profile button near the bottom of the sidebar.

OpenMirai shows:

• your name
• your email address
• a Signed in as label
• quick actions for Dashboard, Settings, and Log out

If the sidebar is collapsed, you can still open this menu from your profile avatar.

Use Dashboard

Use Dashboard when you want to return to the main Admin dashboard.

This is useful when you are deep inside another page and want to quickly go back to the main starting view.

Open Your Settings

Use Settings when you want to manage your personal account details.

This opens your User Settings page, where you can update things such as:

• your name
• profile photo
• language
• theme
• address details

Log Out

Use Log out when you want to end your current session.

After you sign out, you need to sign in again before you can continue using the platform.

Switch Between Portals

If portal switching is available, OpenMirai shows a portal button near the top of the sidebar.

The button shows your current workspace, such as:

• Admin portal
• Instructor portal

To switch portals:

1. Select the portal button.
2. In the Select portal menu, choose the portal you want to open.
3. Wait for OpenMirai to move you to that workspace.

When you open the portal list:

• the portal you are currently using is highlighted
• the other available portal appears as another option in the same menu

OpenMirai keeps the move between portals connected to your existing session, so you do not need to manually sign in again during the switch.

If You Do Not See The Portal Switcher

If you do not see the portal switcher, one of these may apply:

• portal switching is not available in your current setup
• the sidebar is collapsed and the full sidebar header is hidden

If needed, expand the sidebar and check again.
