Find The Right Section To Edit In The Web Editor

Learn what to do when you cannot find the section you want to edit in the Web Editor, use Outline to locate the correct block, confirm the matching section on the canvas, and rename blocks for easier editing later.

This guide explains what to do when you cannot quickly find the section you want to edit inside the Admin Web Editor.

Use it when:

  • the page has many sections and feels hard to navigate
  • the section is nested inside other blocks
  • clicking directly on the canvas keeps selecting the wrong area
  • you want to make future editing easier by naming blocks more clearly

Start With Outline

When the canvas feels crowded, open Outline from the left side of the Web Editor.

The Outline panel shows the page structure as a tree, which is usually the fastest way to find the correct section without guessing on the canvas.

Expand The Structure Until You Find The Right Section

Use the expand controls in Outline to open deeper levels of the page structure.

Keep expanding until you can identify the section you want to work on.

This is especially helpful when:

  • the page contains repeated layouts
  • several sections look similar
  • the content is inside nested containers

Select The Section From Outline

When you find the correct row in Outline, click it once.

OpenMirai then selects the matching block in the canvas.

This helps you move directly to the correct editing target without trying to click through overlapping or similar-looking sections.

Confirm That You Selected The Right Block

After you click a row in Outline, OpenMirai can show:

  • a selected highlight on that row in the tree
  • a matching highlight on the related block in the canvas

Use both highlights together to confirm that you are editing the correct section before changing content or styling.

Rename Important Blocks For Easier Editing Later

If the block name is too vague, rename it to something clearer from the block tools that are available in Outline.

Clear names make future editing faster, especially for pages with:

  • repeated sections
  • long landing pages
  • reusable layouts
  • several similar content blocks

Names such as Hero Banner, Pricing Section, or FAQ Grid are easier to recognize than generic block labels.

If You Still Cannot Find The Section

If you still are not sure which block is correct:

  • expand one more level in Outline
  • click nearby rows one at a time
  • watch which part of the canvas becomes highlighted
  • rename the block after you confirm it

This step-by-step approach is usually faster and safer than making trial edits in the wrong place.

What To Do Next

  • open Block Settings after you find the correct block and need to change content
  • open Styling after the content is correct and the block only needs visual fixes
  • save the page after you finish the section you were trying to edit
